Internet usage has become so common that many people don’t leave their homes for days at a time. It seems there is no limit to what you can do with a computer from business to pleasure. You can watch movies, pay bills and even work right from your own home with nothing but a computer and an internet connection. But is this really healthy behavior? People seem to have forgotten how important human contact really is. Not only does it build social skills needed to develop the mind and succeed in business as well as social settings. By only having contact through a computer screen many people lack these skills. So the question then becomes how much internet is too much.

The truth of the matter is that every person alive needs human contact to properly develop and succeed. Internet use is great but should not be a substitute for everything in our lives. Take the time to develop real time relationships either through friends or business associates. It is a necessary part of life and mental well being to have people close to you at least some of the time. If you find you simply can’t give up your internet there are support groups that can help with internet addiction.
