Comments & Ratings about this product
I will probably enjoy it, but I need to reorder it. I brought the brand new book to the Four Pillars Hotel at Cotswold Water Park and accidentally left it there. I'm not sure why I forgot to bring it home, as I was only there for one night and spent most of my time in the bar.
I have purchased every Agatha Raisin novel and shared them with my late mother, who I adored. These books provide a great escape for me, and I don't really care about their literary merits. With so many novels in the series, not all readers will enjoy every single one of them. However, I have a bag full of these books and that makes me happy.
I am confident that Pushing Up Daisies will also bring me joy once I retrieve my original copy from the hotel or order another one. My decision to read this book is influenced by my positive experiences with previous MC Beaton novels.
I became a fan of Agatha Raisin when I first discovered her. The initial books were incredibly addictive. However, as the storylines progressed, they became more and more ridiculous and silly. Similar to Hamish Macbeth, M C Beaton manages to get away with it because readers develop a fondness for the characters. So, when another book is released, there's always hope that something good will finally happen to the main character. Unfortunately, like with Hamish Macbeth, this never occurs and you're left feeling disappointed at the end of each book. Despite my love for Agatha Raisin and some of the main characters, my advice would be similar to quitting smoking - don't start reading these books because it's difficult to stop once you've started investing your time in them.
I'm currently reading a book about Agatha Raisin, and I must say that her character has matured significantly. She is now portrayed as a well-rounded individual with both positive and negative traits. The storyline is captivating, but it would be better if the number of deaths decreased. Otherwise, rural England might end up being known as the murder capital of the world.
