Comments & Ratings about this product
I replaced the standard corsair fans that originally came with my case. Personally, I prioritize performance over sound and flashy RGB lights, so these fans are ideal for me. I run them at higher rpms (extreme/turbo) than my previous ones and they are barely audible. I was so impressed that I plan on replacing the bottom and rear fans in my case with the 140mm PWM High Speed fans as well. The performance-to-cost ratio is also quite fair, making them worth the price (especially when on offer).
I am extremely satisfied with these fans from Be Quiet! They have greatly improved the cooling of my PC, which used to overheat easily. I purchased two of them and installed them vertically on the top of my chassis as exhaust fans. To ensure optimal performance, I connected them to a high powered PWM fan header so that I can control their speed based on CPU temperature.
I have set up a fan curve where they run at around 40% speed until the CPU reaches 50C. At that point, they ramp up to 70% until it reaches 70C, and then go to 100% when it hits 75C. I have also applied the same fan curve to my CPU cooler so that they work together seamlessly.
This setup has been very effective in keeping temperatures low, and I haven't had a need for maximum speed from the fans yet. Despite being only 120mm in size, they deliver great power and are able to move enough air at lower speeds, resulting in quieter operation overall.
Based on this positive experience, I would highly recommend Be Quiet! as my preferred brand for PC cooling solutions.
The product has a premium feel from the moment you first see it. The fans are quiet, but there is some noise from wind turbulence. I have 8 of these fans in an NZXT case with soundproofing, but I can still hear the wind noise. It's worth noting that all of the fans are running at maximum speed. However, it's important to mention that having 8 120mm fans may result in diminishing returns according to the law of diminishing returns. My CPU (i7 7700k) is not overclocked and my GPU (Asus GTX 1070 Ti Trio) is also not overclocked, and both have good cable management. The CPU temperatures range from 50-75 degrees Celsius under turbo mode, while the GPU temperature ranges from 60-70 degrees Celsius under turbo mode.
