Comments & Ratings about this product
I prefer not to give a product 5 stars unless it truly deserves it. However, I purchased this book for school and found it to be useful for making annotations. Overall, I would recommend it.
I enjoyed parts of the story, but I found the repetitive phrases to be bothersome. As a grandmother, I wasn't particularly fond of the use of profanity. I read this book because it is my granddaughter's assigned text for her GCSEs, and I plan on doing the same work on it as she does for her teacher.
I've always been a fan of Willy Russell's writing since studying 'Educating Rita' in high school. I recently decided to explore his musical work and was pleasantly surprised to learn that he not only wrote the lyrics and play but also composed the music. To fully immerse myself in the experience, I purchased the kindle version of the play and downloaded the Blood Brothers album. As I read through the play, I listened to each song simultaneously, which captivated me right from the start. Despite being set in the 70's/80's, this play still resonates with our current social issues. Overall, Willy Russell did not disappoint me - I absolutely loved it!
