Comments & Ratings about this product
I found this book to be incredibly captivating and I couldn't put it down. As a lifelong fan of Roald Dahl, I was thrilled to dive into his autobiography. It made me want to revisit all of my favorite stories and explore the ones I haven't read yet. The book provides a wonderful glimpse into Dahl's life, with a loving family background and his curiosity about the world around him. The inclusion of letters he wrote to his mother throughout his life adds an extra layer of depth to the narrative. Dahl's passion for travel and photography is truly inspiring, and it left me feeling motivated to seek out new experiences myself. Whether you're a fan or not, I highly recommend this book as there is something in here that will capture your interest and imagination.
I really enjoyed reading about his journey of uncovering his Norwegian family history and his insightful observations on the public school system in the UK. It was disheartening to learn about the mistreatment of young children, but I appreciated how he portrayed the staff and fellow pupils with such emotional depth.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It provides valuable insights into the life of such an incredible writer!
