Deadly Class Volume 1: Reagan Youth

This comic is one of the best I've ever read. While other works have covered the topic of adolescent killers, this comic takes it to a whole new level. The students at Kings Dominion of the Deadly Arts learn subjects like assassination, poison, and beheading. Remender does an excellent job writing a dark, compelling, clever, and thrilling story. Craig's artwork and Loughbridge's coloring perfectly complement the story. I highly recommend this comic! Plus, with quick and free delivery and a low price, it's an awesome deal. Can't wait for volume 2!

I didn't enjoy Remender's previous book, 'Black Science,' as it felt cliched and unoriginal. However, this book is a significant improvement. While teen assassins are common in comic books, this story feels refreshing. It's also commendable that the comic doesn't shy away from depicting realistic teenage activities like casual drug use. Some of the supporting characters may lack depth, and the school cliques feel unnecessary at times. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth checking out.

I decided to give this collection a try on Kindle because of a recommendation and the affordable introductory price. Normally, I stick to superhero stories, but I found the artwork in this collection to be captivating. The panel by panel view adds a smoothness that enhances the presentation. Surprisingly, the writing is also engaging even though the characters aren't particularly likable. However, they quickly form a connection with the reader. The plot may not be very substantial, but it doesn't accurately represent the overall experience of reading this book. Despite my initial reservations, I was quickly absorbed and intrigued by it. It's hard to define or explain, but I highly recommend giving it a chance.
