Comments & Ratings about this product
The first episode is captivating as it depicts the "birth" of K9. However, the second episode is a spin-off without the doctor and can be somewhat dull. Nevertheless, overall it's an enjoyable product!
I understand that there was a small mix-up of scenes at the end of episode 3 of The Invisible Enemy. However, I believe it is important to not overemphasize this minor fault. Although the scenes may be in the wrong order, it only lasts for about 40 seconds and our minds can easily put them in the correct sequence. Additionally, I would like to mention that the K-9 and Company DVD is perfectly fine. The story itself is engaging and had potential to become a great series if it continued. Moreover, I appreciate the well-designed box-set by Clayton Hickman which includes some excellent special features. Let's refrain from labeling this fault as a major issue and instead focus on enjoying the overall experience. In case you do receive a faulty DVD, simply send it back for a replacement – problem solved!
The introduction of K9, every Whovian's beloved robot dog, and the pilot episode of the first Doctor Who spin-off program is featured in The Invisible Enemy. While it may not be considered one of Who's best episodes and the monster isn't particularly interesting, it does introduce Time Lord's best friend. Additionally, the second DVD titled A Girl's Best Friend serves as a pilot for a spin-off that unfortunately never got made beyond the first episode. This episode follows Sarah Jane and K9 mark 3 as they investigate a cult in an English countryside town. Although it may not be a standout story on its own, it can be seen as a prologue to the Sarah Jane Adventures.
