Comments & Ratings about this product
First, it's important to note that this comment is discussing the alternative GiTS: Arise series. It explains that the new series is not set in the same universe as the original 3x OVA or the 2x GiTS:SAC series. The commenter expresses their dislike for the fact that the story has been rewritten and characters have been changed. However, they also acknowledge that despite this, the alternative universe storyline is well done and continues from the GiTS: Arise series. They suggest that watching the Arise series beforehand will enhance appreciation of this new series but it's not necessary if one can make logical connections between them.
Rewritten version:
This comment discusses how the alternative GiTS: Arise series differs from previous versions and shares personal opinions on these changes. While expressing dislike for rewriting characters, it acknowledges that the alternative universe storyline is well executed and continues from GiTS: Arise. Watching Arise beforehand may enhance appreciation but isn't essential if logical connections are made between them.
This movie serves as the concluding chapter to Ghost in the Shell: Arise, and is a must-watch for fans of the series. While it may not reach the same level of writing and character development as Stand Alone Complex, it still offers plenty of enjoyment with its action-packed scenes and stunning visuals.
I'm not entirely convinced about this latest Gits installment. I might need to watch it a few more times, but my initial impression is that it doesn't live up to the previous works. I found myself making cups of tea during the film without even pausing it, which is something I never did with the previous Gits. The story takes place after Arise and while the action sequences are great, they could have explored the Major's past storyline in a more compelling way.
