Comments & Ratings about this product
Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith once again showcase their talent for creating delightfully bizarre content. In this series, they present twelve interconnected playlets, all centered around the number nine. One of these takes place in a cramped six-berth couchette on a continental train (can you guess how that turns out?). Throughout the series, expertly crafted plot twists keep viewers constantly surprised and engaged. Prepare yourself for dark humor that strays far from the norm: a witch on trial, famous names squished into a wardrobe, ghostly occurrences, an almost entirely silent attempted burglary, and a disastrous old lady's party. And don't miss "The Twelve Days of Christine," which may leave you puzzled until the very last moments when everything becomes clear. This show offers plenty to challenge and delight audiences - I personally thought it was fantastic! Plus, there are some great bonuses worth checking out as well.
I caught a few of these stories on TV and enjoyed them so much that I decided to purchase the DVDs. Each story is fantastic, blending humor with moments of pathos and sadness. And, as always, there are plenty of unexpected twists to keep you engaged. The acting is solid overall, but Sheridan Smith truly shines in her episode.
The scripts are exceptional, the acting is superb, and the range of emotions from dark humor (often hilarious) to truly moving is outstanding. These brilliant miniatures can be watched multiple times and continue to be thoroughly enjoyable.
