I watched this show on TV several decades ago, and in my opinion, it has become a bit outdated. The plot lines were limited, and the series was stretched out too much. However, Windsor Davies as the star of the show was fantastic. His character embodied the stereotypical sergeant major - loud, arrogant, ignorant, and sometimes embarrassing with his arguments. But beneath his gruff exterior, he had a vulnerable side that he rarely showed. Despite its flaws and being a bit stretched out, I still enjoyed watching it overall. The ending was well-written too.
I'm disappointed that this is being marketed as a complete collection when it's not. After watching the first series, I noticed that two episodes were missing. Now I'm concerned about how many more will be absent from the rest of the collection.
