Comments & Ratings about this product
I was pleasantly surprised by this highly entertaining film. Despite having seen many recent Godzilla/Pacific Rim and giant monster films, I didn't expect anything new in the genre. However, I was proven wrong. This movie is a lot of fun with some intense moments that may not be suitable for young children. The talented cast and impressive special effects enhance the decent storyline. I've already watched it multiple times and plan on watching it again!
The movie is the start of the monster verse. I watched it in the cinema when it was first released and thought it was okay. Since then, I have watched it a few more times and own both Godzillas that have been released so far (the other one, Kong vs Godzilla, is on pre-order). It's an interesting take on the original story and no longer follows the beauty and the beast theme. Kong is a well-known character from other movies, but this film offers a fresh new story set on Skull Island with various fascinating titans like giant spiders, stick bugs, stags, squid, and of course Kong himself. There's no trip to New York or romantic subplot here; it's purely an action movie. The story isn't overly deep; you can just switch your brain off and enjoy watching all the action unfold.
