I highly recommend watching the dramatized version of Vigo's life with my fiancée. It serves as an excellent companion piece to this collection, cleverly echoing many scenes from Vigo's work.
This DVD set includes all of Jean Vigo's other films, including the notable Zéro de Conduite, as well as various documentaries. The version of L'Atalante included is the most complete restoration, released around 2004. Based on reviews, it appears that this is just a repackage of previous releases.
