Comments & Ratings about this product
I have been making jewelry for several years and recently tried Chinese knotting, but it didn't work out for me. However, this book is much easier to follow. You only need a few tools - a cork mat, pins, scissors, and thread - which you may already have. There aren't many projects in the book, but they are enough to learn basic techniques. Although I usually make chains from beadwork or purchased silver, using this technique with my felted beads gives a more natural look. I gave it 4 stars because there wasn't anything particularly exciting or groundbreaking for me. Overall, I think it's worth trying if you know how to tie knots!
I enjoy doing various crafts, but I often struggle due to my large hands and lack of patience. However, I remembered that my father used to do macrame on a larger scale in the 70s, so I thought I could try micro macrame since we have similar skills. The only problem was understanding the instructions. When I received the book, it turned out to be smaller than expected, but I still gave it a shot. Instead of using proper cord, I used string as a cheaper and easier alternative for knotting. My goal was to create a spiral braid and surprisingly, within just half an hour, thanks to the clear and well-organized instructions in the book, I had successfully made 4 cms of spiral braid. This experience introduced me to a new craft that brings me joy.
I highly recommend this book because of its clear and organized content. It is easy to follow along with the instructions provided. Even when you reach the pages demonstrating how to make different items, there are clear references back to the appropriate instruction diagrams. Congratulations to the author for creating such a helpful resource!
