The visual and audio transfer of this BBC production is excellent, making it highly entertaining. Initially, I was confused by the audio description facility, but I discovered that if you wait without selecting any options, the usual options will eventually appear.
This show is exceptional compared to the numerous sub-par Jane Austen adaptations it has inspired. Many TV and film makers mistakenly equate Austen with Barbara Cartland, resulting in "Mills & Boon" type dramas that lack the wit and sharp observation of the original material. However, this BBC production stands out as the finest dramatization of an Austen novel, even surpassing Emma Thompson's "Sense & Sensibility," which is another worthwhile adaptation. It is unfortunate that the BBC seems unable to produce similar quality and style in their current dramas.
I absolutely adore this mini-series! If you haven't seen this adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, I highly recommend indulging in a binge-watching session with some snacks. Trust me, you won't regret it!
