I realized I didn't actually require this product, but it still performed well. It is straightforward and functions as expected. However, please note that you cannot detach the short ethernet piece at the back if you intend to split an incoming male cable. In other words, you cannot connect your own cable to the splitting end.

This item is not suitable for splitting a network cable from a powerline adapter (homeplug). To use this splitter, you will need two available slots on your router. You will also require two cables to connect from the router to the splitter, and another cable to connect from the first splitter to a second one. Finally, you will need two cables from the second splitter, one for each unit such as Smart TV, Wii, Xbox, Blu-ray player, etc.

I had a situation where I needed to combine two networks using one cable, and these connectors were the perfect solution. However, it's important to be cautious of other similar products that may not offer the same functionality. For network cables with speeds up to 100mbps, only half of the connections (4 out of 8) are typically utilized. These clever connectors allow you to utilize the remaining 4 wires for a second network connection. Simply plug in one connector at each end, and you now have two separate network connections.
