Comments & Ratings about this product
In this classic sci-fi creature movie, a scientist's plan to solve the world's food supply problem goes awry when a tarantula accidentally gets injected with a growth serum. The enormous spider then wreaks havoc, attacking and destroying everything in its path. Despite its silliness, the film provides good fun and tension, along with surprisingly decent special effects that still hold up today. The movie features a solid cast and also marks the debut of Clint Eastwood, who plays an air force pilot without removing his helmet or being officially credited. Although you never see his face, Eastwood's instantly recognizable voice adds to the enjoyment of watching this film.
Tarantula is a must-watch for all fans of 50's b-movies! While it may not be considered high art in terms of the era's cinema, it is undeniably an entertaining and cheesy example of 50's films.
This film is a thrilling homage to the classic B movies of the 1950s, evoking a sense of giant creepy terror. The American Desert provides breathtaking scenery as we witness a colossal spider crawling over a settlement. The storyline revolves around a professor who invents a serum capable of enlarging creatures, leading to disastrous consequences. Among them is an injected tarantula that manages to escape, resulting in spine-chilling chaos.
