Comments & Ratings about this product
I would give this film five stars for its impressive visual cinematography, costumes, and special effects. The battle sequences are particularly captivating, featuring large-scale attacks on the wall by fantastical mythical creatures. The finale is also quite spectacular. However, I must admit that the plot leaves much to be desired. It requires viewers to suspend their disbelief and not question the numerous plot holes and questionable decisions made by the characters. Additionally, there are glaring faults in many of their defense tactics, which is surprising considering they have supposedly been defending the wall for a significant amount of time in the film. Despite these flaws, if you can overlook them, the story is both simple and engaging enough to hold your attention without much difficulty. Overall, it's an enjoyable action fantasy film with decent effects that can be enjoyed by the whole family as long as you're willing to forgive its constant failed logic and poor defense tactics.
I recently purchased this film after watching both the Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D versions. While I still prefer the 3D version, the 4K version is a noticeable improvement over the standard Blu-ray. The detail is much better and the colors are incredibly vibrant. The image quality is solid and impressive.
The soundtrack on this version is the same Atmos track as used on the Blu-ray, and it's highly effective. In particular, the underground tunnel scene towards the end of the film provides amazing overhead movement effects for those with a Dolby Atmos setup. It will definitely put your system to the test, whether you have a soundbar or separate speakers.
So, is it worth upgrading to 4K from the standard Blu-ray & 3D version? Based on my own experience, I would say yes without hesitation!
The film was decent, scoring a 7 - 7.5 out of 10. It's worth watching at least once, especially if you enjoy this genre. The product quality was excellent.
