Comments & Ratings about this product
The quality of Blu-ray is excellent. The film quartet features strong performances, although it could have been improved by condensing it into a trilogy like the books.
I absolutely loved the books and found the films to be a great adaptation. The visual quality in 4K is truly impressive. However, I was disappointed that the special features do not have subtitles. It's unfortunate that some studios neglect their deaf customers' needs.
This is a review specifically for the Blu-ray box set. The picture and sound quality are exceptional, especially when paired with a home cinema system. If you want to fully experience your system's capabilities, this box set is worth investing in.
The films themselves will appeal to those who enjoy movies centered around dystopian futures. The premise revolves around districts being forced to submit two young participants for the Hunger Games as punishment for an uprising against the authorities years ago. These games involve televised fights to the death between these "tributes" from each district. While not suitable for sensitive viewers, the films explore themes beyond violence, focusing on government rule and oppression in the future. I highly recommend them.
