Comments & Ratings about this product
I gave 'The Open Road' an 'okay' review because I had seen a version of this film on TV many years ago. It featured clips of Lands End and a farmer named Mr Eddy, which reminded me of a family I knew who owned a farm near Lands End. I decided to purchase a copy for myself and my 90-year-old Aunt, both being from Cornwall, hoping to see more footage of the area. However, upon watching the newer edition, I was disappointed to find that the scenes I was most interested in had been edited out. Although it may have been mentioned somewhere that the original had been edited, I was not aware of this prior to purchasing the DVD. Even if it had been stated, I wouldn't have known that it was mostly the Cornwall part that was cut out. The DVD itself is fine; it's just personally disappointing for me.
