Comments & Ratings about this product
I found the basic concept of the book interesting, although it was primarily focused on the USA, which is understandable since that's where the author resides. It would have been great to have a more UK-centered edition. I believe this book should be read by a wider audience, especially those who use social media without realizing how much personal information they are revealing through targeted ads. They might be surprised by what they discover.
As a self-proclaimed nerd, I had high expectations for this book. However, I found the writing style to be rather ordinary and not particularly engaging. It's not the kind of book that you can finish in one sitting or one that keeps you eagerly turning the pages.
The book was an enlightening read, as it provided a clear explanation of what big data is and how it impacts our daily lives. Cathy O'Neil's insights have shed light on the complexities of big data, leaving me with a greater understanding.
