MaddAddam is a novel by Margaret Atwood that follows the story of Toby, a survivor of a devastating manmade plague that has wiped out most of humanity. In this post-apocalyptic world, Toby and a small group of survivors are trying to rebuild society while fending off attacks from hostile groups such as the Pigoons and Painballers.

The novel is set in a future where humans have created a new species called Crakers, who are designed to replace humanity after the plague has killed most of the population. The Crakers are innocent creatures who rely on stories to help them understand the world around them. Toby becomes their storyteller and tells them tales from the old world as well as stories that will shape their new one.

As the survivors struggle to maintain their fragile garden, they turn to Zeb, a street-smart man whom Toby loves, for leadership. However, Jimmy the Snowman, who was once their reluctant prophet, falls into a coma, leaving them without guidance.

MaddAddam is a thought-provoking novel that explores themes of survival, humanity, and the power of storytelling. Atwood's vivid imagery and compelling characters make this a must-read for fans of dystopian fiction.
