Comments & Ratings about this product
A virtual two-hander with two exceptional performances, Tom Courtenay and Charlotte Rampling shine in this film about a couple's strained marriage just before their 45th anniversary. However, as someone married for 43 years myself, I found it hard to believe certain aspects of the story. For instance, would the husband really go rummaging through the attic at night while his wife is downstairs? And would she really wait 45 years before exploring his past by looking through their belongings? Despite these reservations, the film is visually appealing with beautiful scenes of the Norfolk countryside. Additionally, the director gives ample space for Courtenay and Rampling to showcase their talents without interference. Overall, worth watching but with some doubts in mind.
