I understand that films "based on real events" are primarily for entertainment rather than being documentaries. However, it is frustrating to see writers inserting their own fantasies when the actual facts are already fascinating and relevant. This particular film creates fictional villains and adds them to the story, presumably because they believe that as adults, we cannot appreciate the truly appalling interference of the British Government in a foreign country's affairs. It is surprising to learn that even Attlee's government succumbed to political expediency, but considering the chaotic state of the world post WW2, it is understandable that poor decisions were made. Nevertheless, it remains deeply disturbing to witness racism embedded not only in daily life but also as a governing principle in countries like the UK.
