Thank you for requesting feedback. I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. The pack includes two CD disks, but unfortunately, the first one is completely unplayable. Upon inspection, it is evident that the surface of the CD has been repeatedly damaged, making it impossible to play. It appears that proper quality control measures were not taken before sending out these CDs. I cannot stress enough how deeply disappointed I am with this purchase.
I initially purchased the anthology series on CD, like many others in the 1990s. While they were good, these beautifully executed vinyl versions are incomparable. For any devoted Beatles fan, the anthologies take you on a journey through their evolution, from their early success to their remarkable growth and ultimately reaching their peak in Anthology 3. At this point, they were not only the most popular band but also the most creative. However, Lennon wisely recognized that continuing would mean repeating themselves and declared that "the dream was over." Nonetheless, what an extraordinary dream it was!
As an avid Beatles fan, I highly recommend exploring the collection of old-time Beatles music available here. If you're only familiar with their songs from best of compilations or the Red and Blue albums (which were originally released LPs), these discs will provide valuable insight into a significant growth period for the band. The sense of youthful enthusiasm and joy is palpable as you listen to young musicians exploring their beloved music. In particular, Anthology 2 showcases the results of their experimentation, which may appear drastically different from Anthology 1. Take the time to listen closely and appreciate the evolution.
