The Beatles Anthology 2 CD album set CDPCSP728

I am a proud owner of the complete collection of Beatles albums and singles. However, when comparing the versions in the Anthology collection - whether they are live recordings or early takes - they simply do not measure up to the master takes found on the original albums. Therefore, I would recommend the Anthology collection primarily for die-hard Beatles fans. While there are a few unreleased songs included, such as "Come and Get It," most of them are forgettable.

I highly recommend considering buying second-hand, like-new copies of the Beatles' Anthology CDs. They are priced at an exorbitant £25, which is quite unreasonable. However, these anthologies are truly exceptional and offer a unique experience. They are not simply "best of" albums; for that, I suggest the Red and Blue albums. The Anthology CDs provide a fascinating opportunity to witness the evolution of songs, studio banter, and overall magic of the Beatles. If you're a devoted fan, owning these CDs is essential (the anthology book is also fantastic!).
