If you're looking for something clear and fast-paced, Jane Arden's work may not be for you. However, if you're open to challenging and experimental content, then I highly recommend it. The 'Vibration' short film is particularly impressive and worth checking out.
I recently saw a film that made me question the purpose of filmmakers. While I do enjoy certain surreal films like 'If', 'The Night Porter', 'O' Lucky Man', and '2001', I fail to understand why some filmmakers believe that creating a film with no plot or character development is considered "cool". In my opinion, this particular film was a complete disaster. Although 'Naked Lunch' had a challenging storyline, it still had one, unlike this pretentious nonsense. Aspiring alternative filmmakers should strive to be original but also remember to entertain their audiences.
This movie is not for those who prefer a straightforward, easy-to-follow plot. It's recommended to read the accompanying booklet beforehand to have some understanding of what's happening. What stands out about this movie (especially in the Blu-Ray version) are its stunning visuals. The bleached out video shots are captivating and immersive. However, the live action scenes are less impressive due to Sebastian Saville's subpar acting skills. To fully appreciate Jane Arden and Jack Bond's style, it's suggested to start with their earlier films like Separation and The Other Side Of The Underneath. If you can embrace their unique perspective, then you may enjoy Anti-Clock.
