This comment is about the Blu-ray edition, ASIN B01MXEQRLW. Unfortunately, I found the picture quality to be disappointing. The black areas of the picture appear grainy and have a dark greenish tint. Additionally, most of the action takes place in dark scenery. I had higher expectations for improved quality compared to the DVD version, so I am disappointed. Another review mentioned that "sadly, the 4k upgrade was not the best," which makes me lean towards recommending the DVD version instead. However, aside from this issue, it is a great movie that explores the challenges of communicating with beings from another world who we have very little in common with (besides existing in the same universe). It also cleverly incorporates the idea that our perception of reality is influenced by language.
I really enjoyed this movie. It gave me a glimpse into what an encounter with visitors from another world might be like. The sub plot was nicely developed and had a satisfying conclusion. The casting and direction were well done. While there wasn't much action, the tension throughout the film kept me engaged, as I wondered if mankind would survive or be destroyed. This movie may not appeal to everyone, but personally, I liked it a lot.
