The actor who portrayed Liberace in the movie was very over-the-top in everything he did. He played the character with great skill, especially with his voice. However, as the movie went on, Matt Damon's appearance became rather grotesque. I found it difficult to connect with any of the characters, possibly because the director chose to portray the real Liberace instead of the one who sued a newspaper for calling him "effeminate" and expected people to believe him. The subject matter of the film is no longer considered controversial by many people. I must commend the wardrobe department for their excellent work; all of Liberace's excesses were beautifully displayed in vibrant colors.
Rob Lowe was hilarious! He truly nailed his performance and had me laughing every time. His portrayal felt so authentic. Matt Damon also delivered a fantastic performance, as did the rest of the cast. I especially enjoyed Michael Douglas' portrayal of a gay artist. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film and thought everyone did an outstanding job. Even without the glitz and glamour, you would still believe they were Liberace and Scott Thorson. Bravo!
I really enjoyed watching the Tribute Film. The casting of the two stars was perfect and they delivered convincing performances. The piano star was truly impressive, although a bit vain. Overall, it provided good and entertaining content.
