"Blue & Lonesome" is a unique departure from the Stones' previous studio albums. Unlike their usual recording process, all tracks were recorded live and mixed without any additional overdubs. Additionally, this album stands out because it solely consists of Blues covers, with no original Stones compositions. However, what sets it apart is the raw emotion and sincerity conveyed in each of the twelve incredible songs:

1. Just Your Fool

2. Commit a Crime

3. Blue & Lonesome

4. All of Your Love

5. I Gotta Go

6. Everybody Knows about My Good Thing

7. Ride 'Em on Down

8. Hate to See You Go

9. Hoo Doo Blues

10. Little Rain

11.Just Like I Treat You

12.I Can't Quit You Baby

The CD version comes in a cardboard case and includes a sixteen-page booklet featuring information about the original recordings as well as the new Rolling Stones versions of these songs, along with pictures of Keith, Mick, Charlie, and Ronnie

I purchased this CD fully aware that it consisted of cover songs. Being old enough to remember the Stones' early days when they primarily did covers, I appreciate this album for what it is - a return to their roots and a display of their enjoyment in their work. While I do own some of the original versions, I am satisfied with the Stones' interpretation. The CD comes in a gatefold sleeve and includes a booklet providing information about the band and the record. However, my only issue is that the booklet fails to acknowledge Brian Jones and his blues roots in discussing the band's early days and blues influence. In my opinion, both Brian and Bill should be recognized for being part of that era. Overall, I give this CD 4 stars.

I've given this album 5 stars because the Stones deserve it for their effort in putting it together. Even though there are only three original members left in the band, it doesn't matter because they successfully capture the essence of their early days. The raw and gritty sound reminiscent of a dingy, sweaty blues club is exactly what I love about it. As a big fan of the Blues, this album is a welcome addition to my collection. My favorite track is their version of Willie Dixon's 'Just Like I Treat You', but all the songs are worth listening to. Jagger's harmonica playing is still as impressive as it was 50+ years ago. Lastly, Charlie's drumming on this album is fantastic and fills me with joy. Long live Charlie! - Eamonn
