I purchased this DVD for my Mom, who is a huge fan of Cliff. She had completely forgotten about this film, and I knew she didn't have it. The DVD has many features, which seem to be better than the included Blu-ray. Unfortunately, we don't have a Blu-ray player to confirm if they are exactly the same. However, based on the cover, it appears that the DVD includes more footage.
After hearing a lot of buzz about this film, I was excited to get my hands on the special edition Blu-ray. While it may not be as amazing as Beat Girl (also part of the BFI series), it's still enjoyable for its story and Cliff's debut. The bonus features are fantastic, making it a worthwhile addition for British film enthusiasts.
I recently watched this film for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining it is. Set in Soho during the late 1950s, a time of Rock and Roll, the story revolves around an ambitious agent who is determined to find a big star to make his mark in the industry. The film has a happy ending and is enjoyable to watch. Fans of The Shadows and Cliff Richard will appreciate their appearances, which bring back memories of when they were starting out on the pop circuit before becoming great stars. Sylvia Syms and Yolande Dolan provide a lovely love interest storyline. In terms of the blu-ray presentation, both picture and sound quality are impressive considering the age of the film. The restoration team did an excellent job. Overall, it's a highly entertaining film worth watching.
