I purchased a smaller quantity this time because my son destroyed many of the previous ones, which upset his older sisters. However, I am impressed with the great quality and glossy pages of these books. They are also easy for my 8-year-old to assemble and surprisingly fly very well. The book is based on the popular dragon series, How to Train Your Dragon, providing background information on each dragon featured in this book (even though they are different from those in the series).
We had a great time building and flying. We need to experiment more to improve our flight skills, but we found that part of the fun is the challenge.
I purchased this dragon-making kit for my 9-year-old daughter, who is both creative and fascinated by dragons. While some people have mentioned that the card used in the kit is thick and needs to be taped together, we found that this actually resulted in a stronger dragon that could fly and withstand collisions without breaking. My daughter was able to make most of the dragons herself, with just a little assistance from me on a few occasions. The information provided about the dragons was well-illustrated and informative, even capturing the interest of my reluctant reader. Overall, I highly recommend this kit.
