Ghostbusters [Blu-ray] [2016] [Region Free]

I initially avoided watching this film due to the hype surrounding its "wokeness." However, I recently had the opportunity to watch it for free on Prime and can now provide an honest review. The acting in this film is truly impressive, but unfortunately, the directing and script fail to live up to the actors' talents. It often feels like watching highly skilled Shakespearean performers in a Sesame Street production. Instead of focusing on uplifting storytelling, the film seems to prioritize appealing to the lowest common denominator. Additionally, the Americanized humor falls flat outside of America. Perhaps involving real comedians who are experienced in writing jokes for clubs would have improved the comedic aspects. Overall, I would give this film three stars as it is a decent choice compared to other options with lower ratings. However, it falls short of being a four or five-star film and can be considered a C- at best.

This is a fantastic family movie, perfect for Halloween and enjoying all the trick or treat goodies! It's filled with lots of laughs and ghostly fun. Plus, it features cameos from many of the stars from the first two Ghostbusters movies.
