Synopsis

The first full-length album by the American rock band, originally released in 2000. It was recorded at NRG Recordings in North Hollywood, California, and produced by Don Gilmore. The album's lyrics focus on problems that lead vocalist Chester Bennington faced during his adolescence, such as drug abuse and the constant fighting and divorce of his parents. The title "Hybrid Theory" comes from the original name of the band and also refers to the concept of music theory and blending different styles. Four singles were released from the album: "One Step Closer," "Crawling," "Papercut," and "In the End." These songs played a significant role in catapulting Linkin Park into mainstream popularity.
