I bought my original copy in 2001, but had to get a new one because the old one got destroyed from playing it too much. This album is one of the few that hasn't lost any of its intensity even after two decades since its release.
I was initially impressed with Slipknot's first CD, but their latest release feels like more of the same. It's unlikely that Slipknot would ever create a Christian album similar to Bob Dylan's Slow Train Coming; instead, their music is more like a powerful freight train that hits you hard. I should have expected this. I'll give it a few more listens in case it grows on me, but hardcore Slipknot fans will likely enjoy it. Personally, I'm waiting for an unplugged CD from Slipknot, although I suspect it won't be released anytime soon. Overall, I did enjoy the album, but it felt somewhat formulaic. If you're new to Slipknot and want to listen to them for the first time, start with their first CD before giving this one a try.
