Comments & Ratings about this product
There is a general consensus that this sequel may not be as captivating as the first, but that does not mean it is a bad film. In fact, it is just as visually stunning and exciting, with a fresh take on the main character facing a more challenging opponent. Robert Downey Jr. once again delivers an excellent performance as the irritating yet amusing Tony Stark, while the rest of the cast convincingly portrays the chaos with polish. The action sequences are typical of Marvel films - long and loud - making it enjoyable for those who appreciate this genre. The standard UK DVD release only includes a commentary as an extra feature. Similar to the first film, subtitles must be selected from the on-screen options rather than using your remote control during playback.
The movie has excessive dialogue between action scenes, which could have been shortened by 20 minutes. However, the action sequences are well-done and Mickey Rourke delivers a convincing performance as the antagonist. Sam Rockwell also impresses as the jealous villain wannabe. The picture and sound quality on the Blu-ray version are great, although not on par with Avatar or Sucker Punch (in my opinion, two of the best). I would appreciate confirmation from other reviewers regarding whether my copy of Iron Man 2 (Triple Play) is an official product or not. The Blu-ray case appears to be thinner and more rounded at the corners compared to standard cases, and the small print on the rear cover is illegible due to poor print quality. The discs themselves only have black print without any colors or pictures. However, the digital download code worked fine, leading me to assume it must be an original copy. Can someone confirm if this description matches their version?
