This movie is excellent, but it contains intense violence and gritty scenes that may not be suitable for sensitive viewers. It reminded me of the notorious Kray twins and the era when gangsters used to wear their pants high on their waists.
This film tells the true story of one of Britain's most notorious crime syndicates, the Kray Twins. Despite their villainous reputation, this movie portrays them in a way that will make them your new heroes. It is a dark yet captivating film that is brilliantly produced and features an excellent performance by Tom Hardy. I highly recommend watching it as it is definitely worth your time.
In that film, the main characters move through the city like phantoms, giving us insight into their thoughts. For example, when Pacino throws a TV out of his car, it's not just a random act - it's a visually stunning representation of all his frustrations. In contrast, Legend portrays characters who are closed off and don't interact with each other. The TV incident in Heat may seem insignificant at first glance, but it reveals Vincent Hanna's innermost emotions which play out throughout the rest of the film. This depth is lacking in Legend. However, The Krays (dir. Peter Medak, 1990) does provide this narrative impetus through character development. By the end of The Krays, your perception of humanity is completely transformed. On the other hand, at the end of Legend you're left thinking it will probably win awards but not much else. Overall, I enjoyed this film more than Ridley Scott's work.
