The movie is fantastic, with little Saroo delivering an outstanding performance. The casting is spot-on and the story, although sad, concludes with a heartwarming ending that brings everything full circle.
I'm not a big film enthusiast, so I usually pick and choose what to watch. Mainstream Hollywood movies don't really interest me. However, the concept of this particular film caught my attention. It tells a remarkable story based on real events, and it immediately captivated me with its methodical and careful approach. This tale can truly be appreciated by those who have witnessed the tragic plight of India's 'street children'. But even if you haven't, it is still a meticulously crafted piece that will engross you.I loved the gentle and empathetic vibe of the film, as well as its attention to detail. Despite its almost two-hour duration, every minute feels justified. For me, it's a must-watch - a fascinating and darker counterpart to the classic 'Slumdog Millionaire'. The only downside I found was that Harvey Weinstein's name hasn't been removed from the title sequences.
The actors delivered outstanding performances, with special mention to the young Saroo who portrayed his character exceptionally well. The film's impact is further intensified by its basis on a true story.
