The beginning was promising, but unfortunately, a significant portion of the dialogue got overshadowed, resulting in a lackluster story. Personally, I would have preferred a more innovative approach like incorporating sample techniques instead of using an ill-fitting re-imagined soundtrack.
I had different expectations for this, but what I received wasn't quite what I wanted. If you already have numerous DVDs of Public Information Films and are looking for an entertaining and unique perspective on PIFs, then I wouldn't recommend it. The accompanying music becomes repetitive after a while, making the whole experience seem pointless.
If you're a fan of 70's and 80's COI/Public Safety Information films, this might not be for you. However, if you enjoy music by artists like Aphex Twin and Add N to (X) and appreciate visually captivating experiences, then you'll absolutely love this. The films take on a darker tone with the haunting soundtrack provided by Mordant Music, which sometimes mocks the original films and completely changes their message. It's truly brilliant and deserves to be showcased on a large screen at the Tate Modern.
