Quiet, cautious Pearl has always looked up to her bold, brash, and bad big sister Jodie. When their parents get new jobs at the grand, fusty old Melchester College boarding school, the girls have to move there and things start to change. Jodie has always been the leader, but now it's Pearl who's making new friends and fitting in with the posh teenagers. Meanwhile, Jodie seems to be getting into more and more trouble: arguing with Mum, scaring the little children, and flirting with the gardener. It's clear that Jodie doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the school.
My Sister Jodie Pearl has always been a source of comfort and strength for her younger sister, Pearl. But as Pearl grows older, she begins to question if she needs Jodie as much as she used to. Then, on Firework Night, a tragic event occurs that makes Pearl realise just how much Jodie means to her. With newfound appreciation, Pearl discovers the true value of her sister's love and support.
