Need For Speed: Shift (PS3)

Need for Speed: Shift is a racing video game that aims to deliver a true driver's experience through various visual cues such as a three-dimensional HUD that mimics driver head movement, inertia, and G-forces. The depth of field also adjusts based on the speed of the car, so when driving at high speeds, the perspective shifts towards the distance, putting the car/cockpit out of focus.

The game features an enhanced AI system that reacts and performs based on the player's aggression and overall driving skill, creating race experiences for all skill sets. Additionally, there is a dynamic crash effect where players will feel like they are "taking damage" when hitting static objects or opponent cars, leaving them disoriented and briefly disrupting the race.

In terms of customization, Need for Speed SHIFT allows players to tailor every aspect of their car's performance and styling, from upgrading and tuning the vehicle to personalizing both the exterior and interior to reflect individual style preferences. The game includes nearly 70 licensed cars such as the Pagani Zonda F, Audi RS4, and Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, as well as over 15 real-world locations like Willow Springs and Laguna Seca, along with fictional circuits like downtown London and Tokyo.

Additional gameplay features such as a career mode will be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June 2009. Overall, Need for Speed: Shift offers an immersive racing experience that combines realistic visuals and physics with customizable cars and challenging AI opponents.
