I have never read the books by Ford Madox Ford that inspired 'Parade's End', but I have watched the series multiple times since its first broadcast and always enjoy it. Set in the years leading up to World War I, the story revolves around three individuals - Christopher Teitjens, an upper-class statistician, his socialite wife Sylvia, and young suffragette Valentine - who become entangled in a love triangle. Their tumultuous relationships unfold against the backdrop of a society and world undergoing profound changes due to the war. The acting, cinematography, and production design are all top-notch in this layered period drama. Viewers can choose to focus on character relationships or pay attention to the political and social shifts happening alongside them. The extras include a 50-minute behind-the-scenes documentary that provides interesting insights into the making of the series.
