I have never read the books by Ford Madox Ford that inspired 'Parade's End', but I have watched the series multiple times since its first broadcast and always enjoy it. Set in the years leading up to World War I, the story revolves around three individuals - Christopher Teitjens, an upper-class statistician, his socialite wife Sylvia, and young suffragette Valentine - who become entangled in a love triangle.
