As someone in their mid-50s, I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Deep Purple's audio and video material from their early days with Mark 1 to the later years with Mark 4. However, I must admit that after that point, I haven't been as interested in their music. In my opinion, Deep Purple's Mark 3 and 4 lineups had both tragic and brilliant moments. Unfortunately, the band struggled to carry Glenn Hughes and Tommy Bolin due to their drug use. Despite this, Bolin's songwriting on "Come Taste The Band" with David Coverdale is truly brilliant. While it may not be as technically impressive as albums like "In Rock," "Machine Head," or "Burn," it still has a fresh sound even today. Additionally, the late Jon Lord brought a breezy quality to the album and Glen Hughes provided an incredibly human presence. However, Jon Lord's performance can be a bit inconsistent at times.
Hello! I'm thrilled to share that as a devoted fan of Deep Purple, I recently placed an order and received it today. The quality is outstanding, with perfect sound and image that truly enhance the music from my favorite band. Thank you so much for your excellent service. Best regards, Abilio
This is a fantastic release that offers both an intriguing documentary and captivating live footage of the infamous 'numb arm' gig from the 70's, originally known as Last Concert in Japan. For fans seeking the mark IV lineup at their peak, I highly recommend finding the double live CD On the Wings of a Russian Foxbat. Ian Paice and Jon Lord deliver exceptional performances, making this gig impressive despite its challenges. As a lifelong Purple fan, I absolutely loved it :)
