Prince

This Prince book has potential, but it falls short due to its subject matter. If the book focused solely on Prince's work from 1980-1988, there would be a clear narrative arc, similar to books written about the Beatles and Smiths. However, Prince has an extensive discography spanning many years, with varying quality and inaccessible material. As a result, the author struggles to maintain the reader's interest while providing necessary details for each song. To achieve a better balance between quality and quantity, it would have been beneficial for the author to limit each volume to one decade. Additionally, not having permission to use song lyrics negatively impacts the book. Personally, I enjoyed reading about the O2 shows in the 'blog' section since I attended one of them; however, others may choose to skip over that part if they have different preferences.
