Red Beard is the final collaboration between Kurosawa and Mifune, which initially made me skeptical about the film. Additionally, I was unsure if a Period Japanese Medical Drama would appeal to me. However, I was pleasantly surprised as this movie turned out to be exceptional with outstanding acting. The female cast deserves special recognition for their fantastic performances. While Red Beard marks the end of one of the greatest cinematic collaborations ever, it serves as a remarkable conclusion. Overall, it is a truly great film.

I highly recommend giving any Kurosawa film a watch. They are all exceptional and deserve a spot on your must-watch list if you appreciate great cinema. This particular film, in my opinion, deserves a perfect 10 out of 10 rating.

Avoid purchasing this Chinese translation as the characters have been given Chinese names, and the English subtitles are poorly written. However, a properly translated version would be worth considering as the story and visuals maintain Kurosawa's usual high standard.
