Sherlock - Series 1-3 [DVD] [2010]

In 2014, I discovered Sherlock, despite being out of the loop due to raising my two young children. By chance, I stumbled upon an episode featuring the attractive villain from Star Trek and the actor from The Hobbit. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try. Little did I know that I had unknowingly watched the season finale of Season 1 and missed out on Season 3 airing on BBC. Thankfully, a boxset was released which saved me from missing any more episodes.

Although there are only three episodes per series, each one is about an hour and a half long, making up for the limited quantity. While the first series may feel slightly outdated now since it was made in 2010, it still holds its charm. Without spoiling anything, most episodes draw inspiration from A.C Doyle's books and offer clever plots with witty dialogue and dark undertones. The acting is top-notch as well.

I highly recommend Sherlock to anyone who enjoys crime dramas; it's a must-watch!

This modern version of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson is well-produced and features stimulating new cases. Benedict Cumberbatch embodies the traditional Holmes with charisma, while Martin Freeman's portrayal of John Watson complements him perfectly with medical knowledge and media technology skills. This box-set includes series one to three, leaving only series 4 to complete the collection. It's unfortunate that this may be the end, considering the abundance of Sherlock Holmes stories available for future seasons. Surely, there is a demand from the public as well?
