Comments & Ratings about this product
Since our baby girl has Down Syndrome, we decided to introduce Makaton early on, and it has been incredibly beneficial for her development. It brings us joy as parents to see how much she loves it and becomes engrossed when it's on TV. Although I personally find it a bit strange and unsettling, I understand that this is not about me but rather about what works best for our daughter.
I'm starting to dislike the show, but my little boy absolutely loves it. He's 18 months old and has learned a lot of words from watching it. Some of my favorites that he's picked up are bag, there, tumble, and hello. I can understand why he enjoys it because it's repetitive and annoying at times, but also educational. The good thing is that he no longer wants to watch "in the night garden." Another great aspect is that they use Makaton on the show, which makes it more accessible for children with learning disabilities and helps mainstream children communicate better with those who have special needs. It's even useful for me when my wife wants to convey something from a distance - I've even learned some signs myself!
