I highly recommend Soul Eater as it was the first anime I ever watched. The box set is a great investment, allowing you to easily watch it without any buffering or discomfort. It's the beginning of my anime collection, along with an Ouran box set that I ordered at the same time. Any committed Otaku should definitely check it out, although I understand if you want to preview the series first. My favorite character is Death the Kid, voiced by Todd Haberkorn who does an amazing job. If you decide to buy it, enjoy!
I'm evaluating the medium of the content, not the series itself. To find a more detailed review specific to anime, I suggest using dedicated review sites like myanimelist or anilist. Although I purchased this series many years ago, it remains untouched on my shelf. However, I have re-watched it three times and each time I prefer the convenience and accessibility of a digital release. DVDs are becoming obsolete as online streaming services take over. Renting online is more cost-effective than buying physical copies. While I recommend this for nostalgic purposes, I highly recommend using a streaming service to watch it instead.
