I absolutely loved this movie! It brought me to the verge of tears when I watched it here. It has been a decade since I last saw it, and it remains one of my all-time favorite films.
This anime movie, directed by the same person who made "The girl who leapt through time," follows Kenji, a high school student who loves math, games, and puzzles. He spends his time in an online virtual reality called OZ. One day, a girl from his school asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend at a family gathering. Intrigued by the opportunity to spend time with someone he considers out of his league, Kenji agrees. However, little does he know that this decision will lead him into a nightmarish situation and challenge his abilities to their limits! The combination of family dynamics and a chaotic virtual world creates an entertaining and thrilling storyline that you'll want to watch again.
I purchased this film out of curiosity, and although I did enjoy it, it didn't quite measure up to the other anime I've seen. The visuals are impressive and the storyline is decent, but I struggled to fully immerse myself in it.
