The new version of this film offers a fresh perspective while staying true to the original story. However, the constant bickering among the Walker children and the overly restrictive and unfriendly portrayal of the adults detract slightly from its enjoyment. It is advisable to watch the film before reading the book, and if possible, also watch the original 1973 version. Overall, it is a good film that leaves one eager for more adaptations of Arthur Ransom's books.
