I first watched this series in the 70's when I was 13 years old. Recently, in my fifties, I decided to rewatch it and found it just as brilliant as before. The storyline is captivating and has truly stood the test of time. I noticed someone criticizing the show for its "hippie meanderings," which I personally find offensive since I identify as a hippie myself. However, what really impressed me was how the story evolved, particularly with the attempts to label the main character as a witch - a typical plot element. Even my wife, who watched it for the first time in her mid-30s, absolutely loved it! Overall, this series is simply brilliant.
I recently discovered a TV series from 1975 that I somehow missed. After being recommended the book trilogy, I decided to give it a try and ended up loving it so much that I bought the DVD. The production may feel dated, but the story is impressively inclusive and features a strong female lead. While some elements from the books are combined for television, the main stories and premise remain mostly intact. I was hooked after watching the first episode and ended up binge-watching the rest. As someone who typically isn't into fantasy, this show blends it with sci-fi and a post-apocalyptic England in a way that I thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended!
